Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare IT Systems Specialist to become a vital member of our healthcare technology team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the daily oversight and assistance of various NHS healthcare applications. This role encompasses managing change requests, aiding in the initiation and termination of service agreements, addressing escalated support tickets, and delivering on-site assistance for both hardware and software, with a particular emphasis on clinical systems such as TPP Systm One, EMIS Web, PACS, ERS, IEP, ICE, and other pertinent clinical tools.

Key Responsibilities

Management of Clinical Systems:

Oversee the daily functionality of diverse clinical systems utilized within the NHS. Guarantee the dependability, security, and peak performance of clinical systems.

Fulfillment of Change Requests:

Manage and execute change requests for clinical systems, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations and standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement system modifications effectively.

Management of Service Contracts:

Assist in the initiation and termination of service contracts associated with clinical systems. Work alongside vendors to ensure smooth transitions of services.

On-Site Support:

Provide on-site IT support for hardware/software and medical device configurations, including Ultrasound and Echo cardiology machines.

Resolution of Support Tickets:

Deliver advanced support to the Service Desk by managing escalated tickets related to clinical systems. Diagnose and resolve intricate issues, ensuring minimal disruption to healthcare services.

Assistance During High-Demand Periods:

Collaborate with IT Administrators during high-demand periods to respond to calls and tackle urgent issues. Offer support to IT Support Analysts for on-site help with hardware and software challenges.

Collaboration with IT Teams:

Engage closely with IT teams to ensure the integration and alignment of clinical systems with the broader IT framework. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Proven experience as a Clinical Systems Administrator or in a comparable role within the healthcare sector. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical systems such as TPP Systm One, EMIS Web, PACS, ERS, IEP, and other relevant healthcare products.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in supporting service contracts and managing change requests.

Working Conditions

This role may necessitate occasional evening or weekend work to address critical issues or system updates. Availability for on-call support to manage urgent clinical system matters.
