About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Health Care Assistant to join our team at Ashworth Street Surgery. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our general practice team to deliver high-quality patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient care and practice-related duties under the direct supervision of GPs and Practice Nurses.
  • Support the practice team in providing high-quality primary care services to patients.
  • Attend updates and refresher courses to maintain clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Undertake specific clinical activities for named patients, including phlebotomy, blood pressure checks, ECG, urinalysis, and minor surgery assistance.
  • Process and manage laboratory samples, stock ordering, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with data collection on patient needs and health-related issues.
  • Participate in LTC checks, spirometry, and other clinical activities as required.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy.
  • 2 years of general practice experience.
  • Excellent team player and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Emis clinical system.
