About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team at Ashworth Street Surgery. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our patients and healthcare team in providing high-quality primary care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient care and practice-related duties under the direct supervision of GPs and Practice Nurses.
  • Work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.
  • Support the practice team in providing high-quality primary care services to patients registered with the Practice.
  • Attend all appropriate updates and refresher courses within specified timeframes for clinical tasks.
  • Undertake specific clinical activities for named patients delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with the collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
  • Perform phlebotomy, blood pressure checks, ECG, urinalysis, recording height and weight, minor surgery, vaccination program delivery, and other tasks as delegated by GP Partners.
Person Specification
  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy.
  • 2 years general practice experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of a health care assistant.
  • Aware of accountability within the role.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • EMIS clinical system experience.
