Head of People Experience

Hawkwood is partnering with a high-growth, AI scale-up to hire a Head of People Experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Business Partner looking to make their first transition into a Head of People role.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to join our client's HR function. As the Head of People Experience, you will lead and develop a small team of HR Business Partners and a People Coordinator, ensuring they deliver impactful HR services and align with the business's evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all people-related aspects of business transitions, including organisational changes and strategic initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation and alignment across teams.
  • Establish and nurture a HR business partnering model where HR acts as strategic partners to different business units, supporting them with tailored people strategies and helping teams achieve their goals while maintaining a cohesive, company-wide approach to people management.
  • Focus on the day-to-day management of HR functions such as employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and compliance with labour laws.
  • Translate the people strategy into actionable HR policies and procedures.
  • Scale HR systems and processes to support the expanding workforce across multiple regions, including optimising HR tech systems (HRIS, performance management tools, etc.).
Requirements
  • Prior experience managing a HR team and delivering across the employee lifecycle within a scaling tech organisation.
  • Strong change management skills, with the ability to lead cultural transformation and implement company changes while maintaining a positive and engaging work environment.
  • Expertise in both UK and US employment laws is essential, with a strong understanding of compliance and the ability to navigate HR complexities across multiple regions, ensuring the business remains legally compliant and strategically agile.
  • Coaching and leadership development expertise, able to mentor and grow HR teams, as well as support leadership development across the wider business.
