About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. As a specialist software engineer, you'll build, optimise and maintain data applications, systems and services using the latest technologies and a DataOps culture. You'll help clients deploy data pipelines and processes in a production-safe manner, working in agile environments and multi-disciplinary teams.

You can expect to get involved in cloud-based projects using AWS, Azure, GCP, and popular data services like Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Kafka, Redshift, Glue, Athena, BigQuery, S3, Cloud Data Fusion, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable and reusable data solutions using software engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver modern data platforms into large organisations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of coding best practices and design patterns.
  • Experience with code and data versioning, dependency management, code quality and optimisation, error handling, logging, monitoring, validation, and alerting.
  • Proficiency in writing well-tested object-oriented Python.
  • Good understanding of design choices for data storage and data processing, with a particular focus on cloud data services.
  • Experience in programmatically deploying, scheduling, and monitoring components in a workflow.
