Main Responsibilities

The National Lift Manager position at City Facilities Management plays a pivotal role in the management and delivery of lift engineering works across our estate. This role requires strong working relationships with customers, internal teams, and approved sub-contractors, ensuring successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities include ensuring the delivery, reporting, and investigation of any shortfalls on agreed KPIs, as well as auditing and challenging contractor decision-making to maintain service delivery. You will be required to undertake critical audit checks, documenting findings in line with best practice and company guidelines.

This role also involves managing a budget and service delivery in a cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with customer and company Health & Safety Requirements at all times.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Represent the company in a professional manner, developing excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
  2. Deliver effective management of all approved contractors, ensuring effective two-way communication.
  3. Ensure all company and customer standards are understood and adhered to, in line with prevailing legislation.
  4. Collate and document relevant certification to ensure compliance is evidenced.
  5. Provide technical support to Divisional Operations Managers, AEM, and Customer.
  6. Communicate and address underperformance on KPIs, implementing action plans and reviewing progress.
  7. Respond to Help Desk calls, resolving issues effectively and escalating where necessary.
  8. Hold regular meetings with the customer, ensuring agreed actions are recorded and issues resolved.
  9. Comply with City policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Recruitment & Selection, and prevailing legislation.
  10. Participate in the recruitment and selection process for Technician vacancies.
  11. Process information through CAFM systems, working efficiently to meet requirements.
  12. Assist in planning and delivering training and technical knowledge requirements for Technicians.
Financial Responsibility

This role involves identifying and delivering business development opportunities within budget to fund additional services to the customer. Managing capital plans and projects jointly with the customer and designated Manager, ensuring they are completed to specification and within budget.

People Responsibility

You are responsible for sub-contractor delivery and management, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer expectations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance.
  2. NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent.
  3. A minimum of 5 years experience in Lift engineering.
  4. Working knowledge of the maintenance service within the FM industry, including PPM and compliance background.
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating, and presenting performance data.
  7. Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation, and project management skills.
