Head of Learning and Development

Macmillan Davies is seeking a dynamic leader to shape the future of talent in a newly created role. Reporting into the Group People Director, you will help to develop routes to learning across the business, supporting the full L&D cycle and ensuring employees have access to development and training opportunities throughout their careers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy in collaboration with senior leadership, aligning with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Program Delivery: Oversee the creation and execution of core, specialist, and professional development programs, ensuring they meet operational needs and enhance employee competencies.
  • Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, integrating best practices and innovative methodologies into our L&D programs.
  • Performance Management: Design robust tracking and evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of training initiatives and their impact on organisational performance.
  • Apprenticeship Programs: Optimise the use of the Apprenticeship Levy, collaborating with training providers to set up beneficial programs.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience leading a Learning and Development function with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience of delivering training in a Contact Centre setting would be preferred.
  • Qualification/Degree in Learning and Development (or comparable).
  • Strong leadership skills, including managing remote teams and working closely with senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
What We Offer:
  • Basic salary in the region of £50,000 per annum.
