At Essex County Council, we are committed to improving the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are seeking a skilled SEND Operations Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, reviewing, and quality assuring Education, Health, and Care plans (EHCPs) and Education, Health and Care needs assessments (ECHNAs). They will provide guidance and direction to the team to ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Essex Guidelines.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,508 per annum, plus benefits such as flexible working arrangements and opportunities for professional development.

This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including 'hard to reach' families. They will possess thorough knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015, as well as significant experience of reviewing and quality assurance of EHCPs.

Please note that this role requires attendance at regular admission/review meetings with special schools, enhanced provisions, PRUs, and direct individual work for complex situations.
