We are looking for an experienced Planning Director to join our team in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the setup of a new office, managing a successful planning team, and taking ownership of large-scale projects. You will also be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Establish a new office in Plymouth, focusing on business development and client acquisition in the South West.
  2. Grow and manage a successful planning team, providing mentorship and support to junior planners.
  3. Lead large-scale planning projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
  4. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
  5. Deliver expert planning advice and guidance to clients, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  6. Manage project finances, ensuring the team meets targets and objectives.

Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior planning role, preferably at Director level.
  2. Extensive knowledge of the UK planning system and a strong network of contacts in the South West.
  3. Proven business development skills, with a track record of winning new work and growing client accounts.
  4. Excellent leadership and management abilities, capable of building and inspiring a high-performing team.
  5. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  6. MRTPI qualification (or working towards).
This role offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
