Job Summary:
Plymouth City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior children's services manager to lead the delivery of strategic planning and intelligence functions for Children's Services. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a proven track record of delivering improved outcomes and working with partners to deliver a high-performing service.

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of strategic planning and intelligence functions for Children's Services. This includes developing and implementing effective longer-term strategic plans for the service, managing data and developing systems to support performance and sufficiency, and developing business-critical information and intelligence to improve outcomes for children, young people, and their families. The role also involves providing commercial acumen and budget management skills to support the delivery of the service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of strategic planning and intelligence functions for Children's Services
  • Develop and implement effective longer-term strategic plans for the service
  • Manage data and develop systems to support performance and sufficiency
  • Develop business-critical information and intelligence to improve outcomes for children, young people, and their families
  • Provide commercial acumen and budget management skills to support the delivery of the service

Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering improved outcomes and working with partners to deliver a high-performing service. They will also possess extensive knowledge across children's services, including early years, education, and social care, as well as commercial acumen and budget management skills. Additionally, they should have experience in developing and implementing effective longer-term strategic plans for a service, managing data and developing systems to support performance and sufficiency, and developing business-critical information and intelligence to improve outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
