Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the receipt, supply, and distribution of pharmaceutical products across our hospital site.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for receiving, unpacking, and checking all orders received into the pharmacy stores. You will also be involved in stock control, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our pharmacy team to provide a high-quality service to our patients. You will be responsible for ensuring that all stock is stored correctly, following the principles of Good Distribution Practice.

We are looking for a candidate who is keen to learn, has good communication skills, and is able to work under pressure. You will be required to have a strong attention to detail and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.

Main Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and check all orders received into the pharmacy stores
  • Participate in stock control, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records
  • Ensure that all stock is stored correctly, following the principles of Good Distribution Practice
  • Provide a high-quality service to patients, visitors, and other departments
  • Work closely with the pharmacy team to achieve safe, high-quality patient care

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services or willingness to work towards
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths
  • Experience in pharmacy, hospital, or community settings
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
