We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join our team at an Alternative Provision in Reading. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work with students aged 11 to 18 who have mental health needs and behaviour changes, providing support and guidance throughout the school day.

Your role will involve providing 1:1 and group support in the classroom, helping to manage students' behaviour and develop their social and emotional skills. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive and encouraging learning environment, and play a crucial role in the students' education.

The ideal candidate will have a psychology background and be able to provide a positive role model for the students. You will have the opportunity to gain experience working with challenging behaviour and mental health, and develop the skills needed for a career in youth work or psychology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with mental health needs and behaviour changes
  • Help to manage students' behaviour and develop their social and emotional skills
  • Work closely with the class teacher to create a positive and encouraging learning environment
  • Play a crucial role in the students' education and provide a positive role model

Requirements:

  • Psychology background or relevant experience
  • Ability to provide a positive role model for students
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour and mental health
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
