We are seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join our team at a Specialist School in Reading. As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will be working with students aged 11 to 18 who have mental health needs and behaviour changes. Your role will involve providing 1:1 and group support in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher, helping to manage the students' behaviour and develop appropriate social and emotional skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain experience working with challenging behaviour and mental health. You will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment, and will be working with a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and group support to students with mental health needs and behaviour changes
  • Working with the class teacher to develop and implement behaviour management plans
  • Helping students to develop appropriate social and emotional skills
  • Supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate in a relevant field (e.g. psychology, youth work, education)
  • Experience working with young people with mental health needs and behaviour changes
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
