Job Title: Waterway Maintenance Director

About the Team:

We are a dynamic team working to maintain and improve our waterways in Liverpool. We are looking for an experienced Waterway Maintenance Director to lead our team and oversee the delivery of waterway maintenance and visitor services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong relationships with visitors, users, volunteers, and colleagues to address service-related needs.
  • Improvement Program Management: Identify and implement targeted initiatives to improve visitor experience and maintain waterways.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with regional and wider teams to integrate and deliver works, events, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Volunteer Development: Design and manage volunteer programs to enhance their contributions to waterway maintenance and visitor experience.
  • Project and Budget Management: Oversee small projects (up to £20k), ensuring compliance with budget, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and schedule a team of staff and volunteers to ensure quality and timely execution of maintenance and operations.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should also have experience of project management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
