Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Project Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) in North Wales.
Your Key Responsibilities
- To plan, support and monitor project elements or work packages.
- Drafting work packages, plans and reporting deviations to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Collaborating with Programme/Informatics staff and stakeholders to deliver all projects within the Informatics portfolio.
- Providing management direction and support to Project Support Officers and programme staff in planning and delivering projects.
- Complex information exchange regarding project changes, timescales, requirements or additional work needed by tight deadlines.
- Representing Informatics through active participation in Health Board/National Teams and groups.
- Managing staff within area of responsibility, including line management for delegated staff.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the healthcare sector. As a Strategic Project Support Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering projects that improve patient care and outcomes.
You will be responsible for supporting project managers in planning, monitoring and controlling project activities. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing projects, with a strong background in project management principles and methodologies. You will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
A strong understanding of healthcare informatics and its application is essential. Additionally, you will have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and empower project teams.
In terms of qualifications, we are looking for a degree-level qualification or equivalent level of work experience and knowledge. ILM Management Level 3 or equivalent qualification/level of work experience and knowledge is also required. A willingness to complete this qualification within two years if not already held is essential.
Other Essential Qualifications Include:
- ILM Management Level 3 or equivalent qualification/level of work experience and knowledge.
- Evidence of Continual Professional Development.

Salary: £38,890 - £43,041 per annum (dependent on experience).
