We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Ambulance Care Assistants based in Crewe on a bank (0 hour) contract.

This is an out-of-hours position, requiring flexibility to work Mon to Fri 16:00-06:00, Sat 08:00-06:00, and Sun 06:00-06:00. Applicants must be able to commit to these hours.

The role of an Ambulance Care Assistant is both rewarding and fulfilling, offering the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives every day.

Key responsibilities include transporting elderly, sick, and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, either as two-person crews or solo. A full UK driving licence and good physical fitness are essential requirements.

Additional duties may involve:

  • Assisting with the transportation of 'end-of-life' service users, demonstrating empathy at all times
  • Building rapport through effective communication with patients and their relatives/friends
  • Ensuring safe and secure handling of service users in and out of the ambulance
  • Transferring patients between beds, stretchers, chairs, or similar environments
  • Providing assistance to service users with challenging behavior or mental health issues
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the ambulance

To succeed as an Ambulance Care Assistant, you should possess:

  • A commitment to patient care
  • Effective communication skills and experience in emotionally charged situations
  • Calm and considerate driving abilities, with no more than three penalty points on your license
  • Natural flair for teamwork and collaboration
  • Physical fitness for patient handling and movement
  • Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check (company-funded)
  • Familiarity with the local area
