Job Information:
  • Job Title: Skills Instructor (Seasonal or Part-Time)
  • Program: Day Services or Career Services

  • Pay Rate: $18 per hour

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to join our team as a Seasonal or Part-Time Skills Instructor in our Day Program or Career Services. As a Skills Instructor, you will have the opportunity to empower individuals with developmental disabilities by teaching adaptive daily living skills through classroom and community services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Day Program Skills Instructors:
    • Develop curriculum to teach individuals new skills based on your interests (art, music, cooking, health & fitness)
    • Mentor Individuals, assess needs, create and implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) to enhance independence
    • Plan and oversee community-based activities (movies, picnics, bowling, mini-golf)
    • Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs
  • Career Services Skills Instructors:
    • Support Individuals with developmental disabilities enhance their work skills and find employment opportunities
    • Provide direct support and assist individuals in gaining community employment by helping them learn specific skills both in-house and in the community
    • Create and participate in community-based activities
    • Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs
Requirements:
  • Qualifications:
    • High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)
    • At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
    • A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must
    • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
    • Must pass company background and reference checks
