Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team, supporting the SSEN Large Capital Delivery Directorate. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert procurement and commercial support to complex large capital projects, ensuring compliance with Capital Projects Governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the tender process for capital projects, from invitation to tender through to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase.
  • Develop and implement Procurement and Commercial strategies in line with Capital Projects Governance requirements.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment and improving safety performance.
  • Support the Head of Procurement and Commercial and the Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world-class procurement and commercial service.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification, with professional membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS or CICES).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 and commercial governance arrangements for large capital projects.
  • Experience in estimating, sourcing management, cost and budget management, and contract administration.
  • Ability to draft and interpret commercial contracts, with knowledge of Standard Form construction contracts and bespoke contract arrangements.
