Civil Engineering Technician Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Civils Technician to join our team in Oxfordshire. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a recognized engineering or CAD qualification and has experience in civil engineering design consultancy.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute expertise in drainage adoption procedures, including Section 106/104, Sewers for Adoption, and SuDS Manual principles.
  • Build strong client relationships and collaborate effectively with professional teams using excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Use CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D, to create accurate drawings and models.
  • Support the production of technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
  • Coordinate with local authorities for approvals, including Section 38, 278, and 104 agreements.

Requirements:

  • Possess a recognized engineering or CAD qualification.
  • Bring civil engineering design consultancy experience.
  • Technical expertise with highways and civil engineering design software such as Civil 3D, Site 3D, AutoTrack, and MicroDrainage/Flow.
  • Able to take ownership of the technical approval process with self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of highway planning procedures, including Section 38/278 Agreements, MfS, and DMRB standards.
  • Able to thrive in a team environment while following instructions and contributing to collaborative success.
