We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our established Paediatric Psychology team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279), supporting children with long term health conditions.
The post holder will become an integral member of our Multidisciplinary Paediatric Diabetes Team, working alongside Paediatricians, Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists and Dieticians in clinics and inpatient facilities at St Richards Hospital and Worthing Hospital. We utilise virtual video consultations as a valuable adjunct to our traditional ways of working.
Responsibilities include providing highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions for children, young people and their families/carers using the Paediatric Department in the western part of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will support psychological practice within the Paediatric Department and the wider professional network involved with the service users.
We treat our patients and staff with compassion and empathy, going above and beyond to meet their needs. As a university trust and leader in healthcare research, we value learning, teaching and training to be the best that we can be.
Key skills required include clinical expertise in assessing and treating psychological difficulties arising in childhood and understanding the psychological sequelae of physical health problems including long term health conditions. A high level of clinical expertise in this area is desirable.
We offer flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance, as well as opportunities for growth and development through our Wellbeing Programme for staff.
A competitive salary of £76,761 - £101,045 per annum (£43,414 - £57,191 band 8a) is on offer for this challenging yet rewarding role, which supports the emotional and psychological wellbeing of children and young people with long term health conditions.
