About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner Psychologist or Specialist Psychological Therapist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality specialist psychological therapy services to individuals, carers, families, and groups, working with complex presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological therapy services to clients, their families, or carers, where there are complex presentations.
- Hold and manage a clinical caseload, exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritizing of own workload and the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients.
- Use analytical and judgment skills to take clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues.
- Supervise assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists, and junior psychologists, psychological therapists, or counsellors, and other staff as appropriate.
- Provide consultation, mentorship, supervision, and advice about psychological issues to other members of the team/service and other professionals working with service users.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines, exercising responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team.
- Contribute to the development, evaluation, and monitoring of the team's operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation, and audit.

Requirements
- Recognized accredited postgraduate level training in a psychological therapy, as specified in the Appendix.
- Postgraduate doctoral level training in applied psychology, as approved by the HCPC, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
- Substantial post-qualification/accreditation experience of specialist psychological therapy, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
- A high level of competence in applying a psychological therapy to complex difficulties, appropriate for the therapy and client group served by the post.
- Experience of offering teaching, training, and supervision within a demanding organizational context.
- Experience of representing psychological therapy within the context of multi-disciplinary care within a complex organizational context.
