Job Description

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel is seeking a skilled Reservations Agent to join our team. As a key member of our front desk staff, you will be responsible for processing incoming reservations and maximizing room revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To take bookings via telephone, letter, or fax, entering the correct details into the computer system.
  • To update reservations as necessary, either amendments or cancellations.
  • To ensure that all bookers are aware of the hotel's policy concerning credit and release times.
  • To assist in the controlling of business mix and room rates as instructed by the Manager/Head of Department.
  • To maintain a filing system containing all correspondence relating to all reservations taken.
  • To ensure procedures are carried out to support best practice for our M&E office.
  • To effectively communicate with reception concerning special request bookings or last-minute charges.

Essential Skills:

  • To have a strong understanding of the Opera system.
  • To have experience in managing both individual and group enquiries.
  • To be flexible in attitude, approach, and working hours, as the hotel's level of business varies considerably.
  • To possess a good command of the English language (spoken and written), excellent phone etiquette, and communication skills, customer service-oriented, and computer literate.
