Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential homes.

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting the daily routines of the young people in our care, including promoting personal hygiene, meals, and activities. You will also be involved in developing life skills, independence, and socialization, as well as attending medical appointments and completing daily paperwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting daily routines, including getting the young people up, promoting personal hygiene, meals, and activities
  • Developing life skills, independence, and socialization
  • Attending medical appointments
  • Completing daily paperwork, including day sheets and handover documents
  • Supporting the plans on the activity planners
  • Completing budgeting requirements
  • Completing daily room checks and daily housecleaning tasks
  • Completing any food/other shopping needs, including meal preparation and kitchen hygiene/laundry duties
  • Liaising and building relationships with families
Requirements
  • Flexibility in your availability is a must, as the role could involve sleep-in nights and shift work of up to 14 hours
  • Understanding of the issues that face young people in care
  • Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team
  • Willingness to learn and undertake a DBS check at enhanced level
