About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Teachers and Classrooms
    • Assist teachers in preparing resources and materials to meet the individual needs of students.
    • Provide one-to-one support to students under the supervision of the class teacher.
  • Student Support and Wellbeing
    • Work closely with the Head of Student Support and Behaviour and Welfare Support Leads to support the social and emotional needs of students.
    • Report on student progress using an evidence-based approach.
  • Enabling Student Learning
    • Enable students to learn by understanding their learning goals and targets.
    • Support students in practicing and learning new skills.
    • Challenge students to be as independent as possible.
  • Safe and Stimulating Environment
    • Assist in maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for students.
    • Provide activities that challenge and enable students to learn and practice their skills.
  • Safeguarding and Quality Assurance
    • Understand and implement safeguarding policies and procedures.
    • Participate in the College's quality assurance processes and procedures.

  • Qualifications and Training
    • Applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
  • Personal Qualities
    • A can-do attitude and commitment to the students and the team.
    • A passion for developing a career in special needs education.
Working Arrangements

This is a temporary position, with the option to make it permanent at a later date. Access to a car is beneficial, but not essential. Opportunities for carpooling may be available.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. This may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
