Key Responsibilities- Supporting Students

- Assist with tasks such as feeding, watering, mucking out, and cleaning equipment.
- Assisting with Horticulture
- Support the horticulture team with tasks within the kitchen garden and other garden areas, including weeding, watering, harvesting, and maintenance.
- Assist with setting up eco-therapy activities in preparation for students' lessons.
- Professional Development
- Develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties.
- Engage in external and internal training and development opportunities, maintaining an up-to-date folder evidencing Continuing Professional Development.
- General
- Support students with aspects of personal care as required.
- Participate fully in the College's quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Undertake such other duties commensurate with the post of Education/Enabling Support Assistant as may be reasonably required by the Tutor or Principal of College.
- Evidence of a good level of general education attainment and Literacy and Numeracy skills.
- Evidence of continued professional and personal development.
- Full driving licence and willingness and ability to drive College minibuses/cars.
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Excellent understanding and knowledge of Safeguarding policies and procedures.
- A good understanding of what constitutes best practice within a teaching and learning environment.
- Understanding of the role and impact of other key professionals, education, nursing, therapies, etc. within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Working effectively to support students to achieve their learning goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to develop positive relationships within the work setting and contribute effectively to achieve consistency and quality.
- Ability to produce and present accurate, clear and concise reports and information.
- To work within the framework of the mission statements, aims, policies and procedures of Livability and of Nash College and to support the Christian objectives of the organisation.
- Able to meet the physical, mental and emotional challenges of the role and ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- To be committed to the development of opportunities for inclusion by all students attending the College and to promote equality of opportunity and cultural diversity.
- To be a role model for staff and students in all aspects of personal and professional conduct and by exemplifying the Code of Conduct of Livability.
