Job Description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a rapidly expanding SEN college in Dorset. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex and additional needs, providing a safe and stimulating environment that enables them to learn and grow.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting class Senior Learning Support Assistants and Teachers in preparing resources to meet the personalized learning intentions of allocated students.
  • Providing one-to-one support under the supervision of the class Teacher for the delivery of skills-based learning.
  • Working with the Head of Student Support, Behaviour and Welfare Support Leads to support the social and emotional needs of young people.
  • Collaborating with class Teachers to report on progress using an evidence-based approach.

Key Skills and Qualities:

  • Ability to understand and implement Safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for supporting students with complex and additional needs.
