About the Role

NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Health Inequalities Partnership Lead. This role will play a crucial part in leading the Health Inequalities Manager and the Healthcare Inequalities Specialist in engaging operational, clinical, and cross-organizational project team members to progress the successful delivery of objectives and activities relating to the core ICB function of tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access.

Key Responsibilities
  • Influence positive change in tackling Health Inequalities through a detailed working knowledge and understanding of healthcare and the socio-economic influences relating to healthcare inequalities.
  • Engage with and contribute to matrix working with Strategic Commissioning and Insights Teams in relation to Statement of Information Standards for health inequalities and implementation of PHM approaches.
  • Contribute to development of coherent and outcome-based health inequalities Commissioning Intentions in the Joint Forward Plan and System Strategies.
  • Propose and implement a range of methodologies to the evaluation and measurement of the performance of health services in reducing Healthcare Inequalities.
  • Contribute to influencing the system to deliver on wider determinants of health inequalities including green agenda.
  • Develop systems for the recording and monitoring of ICB duties to reduce inequalities in the exercise of functions in regard to relevant sections of the NHS Act 2006.

Requirements
  • Master's level education in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise of healthcare and the socio-economic influences relating to healthcare inequalities and organisational development.
  • Proven and significant leadership experience.
  • Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development.
  • Understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciation of the implications of this on engagement.
  • Appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England, and individual provider and commissioning organisations.
