About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Student Pastoral Support Professional to join our team in Trafford. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Assistant Head Teacher of Behaviour and Attendance to promote positive attitudes towards regular school attendance.

The role involves delivering group work and 1:1 sessions with young people, supporting students in alternative provision, and developing strategies to improve student attendance and punctuality. We are looking for a dedicated and committed individual who can provide excellent pastoral care and support to students.

A key responsibility of the role is to support students in achieving their academic potential, while also providing guidance and advice on personal issues. The successful candidate will be well-versed in tackling difficult conversations and have excellent communication skills.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. education, psychology, sociology)
  2. Experience working with young people in a pastoral or educational setting
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  5. Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £27,711 - £30,060 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a pension scheme, and a generous holiday allowance.
