Position Summary

As a TV Product Manager at Samsung, you will be responsible for creating and implementing product marketing plans for the TV category to meet critical metrics. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product marketing plans to drive sales and market share growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage product lineups, including lineup optimization and initiatives to drive operational efficiency or respond to market challenges.
  • Support and manage pricing strategies by product and by segment, and manage promotional roadmaps for assigned products to drive sales and market share growth.
  • Analyze sales forecasts and monitor sales and marketing investments to maintain accurate target plans and inventory balance, and achieve business P&L goals.
  • Prepare and own forecasts for assigned categories, collaborate with supply chain, sales, and customers to ensure appropriate inventory levels throughout the product lifecycle, and timely end-of-life (EOL) strategies.
  • Track weekly product sales data by account and by SKU to manage forecasts and resolve sales challenges.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and customers to understand customer retailer strategies and challenges, and provide marketing support for successful selling.
  • Conduct sales and supply chain meetings, develop weekly forecasts, and confirm sales estimates essential for achieving supply chain efficiency and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Work with the Training team to create training material for sales associates.
  • Pitch product line-up features and strategy at key customer meetings and events.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis using various systems and online research.

Requirements

  • Experience in product management or relevant experience in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across businesses and cultures.
  • Ability to challenge ways of thinking, generate creative perspectives, and establish new, effective ways of working.
  • Problem-solving skills to seek and identify root causes or problems, establish appropriate solutions, and track results to conclusion.
  • Eye for business to understand the product and organization structure, analyze industry trends and competitors, and create business opportunities.
  • Planning and organizing skills to design systematic and feasible strategies, develop clear plans, and specific initiatives that build a competitive advantage.
  • Product knowledge to have a real passion for technology and consumer electronics, and the capability to understand technology features to have credible conversations in the category.
  • Decision-making skills to establish alternatives from a rational perspective, make judgments accurately and on time.
  • Customer focus to understand customer needs and desires, improve customer satisfaction by operating resources, and making decisions based on understanding the customer.
  • Global perspective to understand the global business environment and handle conflict and alignments between local and global strategies.

What does success look like?

Success after 3 months involves establishing connections, gaining deep knowledge of Samsung and competitors' product lineups, and being ready to take ownership of areas within the TV category. By 6 months, the individual should have taken full ownership of these areas, working independently on tasks and further building relationships with partners. After 12 months, success entails independently driving the TV business, proactively identifying opportunities and risks, and building strong relationships across various functions within the UK/European office and HQ. They should also become an expert on Samsung products and have a solid understanding of competitor offerings.
