Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a Facilities Maintenance Lead with a robust background in electrical and mechanical systems to oversee our maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership abilities, a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, and a proven track record in maintenance management. Reporting directly to the Site Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless production operations at Abel & Cole. Leading a team of four Maintenance Engineers, you will implement effective troubleshooting and planned preventative maintenance strategies to extend the lifespan and enhance the efficiency of our production and facility equipment. As a collaborative team, the Maintenance department is integral to our operations, enabling us to deliver exceptional service to our customers. Your role will be vital in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring consistent maintenance coverage in production areas. With ambitious plans for our production capabilities, this is an exciting opportunity to join our organization and become a key player in our maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs on machinery across our operations promptly, collaborating with production staff to reduce downtime.
  • Make informed decisions under pressure, as our environment is dynamic and fast-paced.
  • Ensure timely execution of planned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of critical production and operational spare parts on-site.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation complies with regulatory standards, GMP, and company procedures.
  • Uphold cleanliness and housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety and take pride in the workplace.
  • Identify and propose improvements, replacements, and repairs as necessary.
  • Manage daily maintenance expenditures in alignment with the Site Services budget.
  • Oversee the training and development of maintenance personnel.
  • While primarily based at our main site, occasional travel may be required to support other locations.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within a commercial manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Must possess at least a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification in building services 'electrical installation route' and/or a Level 3 Diploma in Installation of Electrotechnical systems & equipment, along with the 18th Edition certification.
  • Experience in leading a diverse team.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Professional demeanor with integrity and honesty.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with MS Office applications.
  • Good understanding of LOLER/PUWER regulations.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
