Job Description

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Nurse to join our Ophthalmology team as a clinical leader. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be accountable for providing clinical leadership and operational management across all elements of the service.

  • You will lead and develop nurses and nursing practice, ensuring a highly visible and authoritative presence throughout the department.
  • You will work closely with the Operations Manager and Divisional Senior Management Team to ensure effective and efficient management of the department.
  • You will maintain a visible presence where patients, staff, and visitors can turn for assistance and rely on you to meet the fundamental and specialist aspects of care.

You will have the opportunity to work on a vibrant hospital campus with a friendly community feel, excellent facilities, and a fully electronic patient record system that improves healthcare quality.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current and relevant NMC registration as a first-level registered nurse.
  • Significant experience managing a ward/unit and broad senior clinical and managerial experience relevant to the post.
  • Demonstrable success in working collaboratively across professions and services, managing change, introducing evidence-based practice, and project management.
