Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Engineer to join our team in Telford. As a key member of our robotics department, you will be responsible for the setup and installation of robots from single units to multiple robot cells.

Your primary focus will be ensuring all equipment is in working order and promoting good communication within the robotic department as well as other departments to ensure a quality product.

Responsibilities
  1. Program robot paths, set up program structure, and implement offline programming
  2. Configure robot IO, weld interface, and program call
  3. Set up structure for robot programs
  4. Provide robotic support and training as required
  5. Develop and control program structure as jobs progress
  6. Work on robot drawings and configurations
  7. Train and work with other programmers to enhance skill level
  8. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  9. Order materials for robots
  10. Anticipate and solve robotic problems (troubleshoot)
  11. Operate various tools and equipment, including precision equipment (testers), megger, scope
  12. Fastening down of tooling and robots
  13. Work closely with Robot Supervisor regarding projects, monitoring workload, and deadlines
  14. Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy
  15. Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial robotic systems
  16. Develop robot programs using native programming languages
About You
  • You should have a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing/Electrical/ Mechatronics Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in programming robots, with 5 years being desirable
  • Hands-on experience programming ABB/Kuka/Fanuc robots
  • Good understanding of IO, transfer of information between Robot and PLC, and PLC Functionality
  • Good understanding of robot program flow and basic programming theories
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and how they apply to robotic safety
  • Experience in robotic spot welding, mig welding, material handling is required
  • Practical experience and good understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring
  • Sound mechanical ability to work on robot dress packages and peripheral equipment
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
  • Proven ability and willingness to train and lead others
