About the Role

This exciting opportunity offers a unique blend of laboratory expertise and teaching responsibilities. You will be responsible for preparing materials, equipment, and lab areas for day-to-day teaching activities, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment for students. Your extensive knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment, including FTIR, UV-vis, GC, melting point, and chemical synthesis methods, will enable you to demonstrate and assist others in using them.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will work closely with students, graduate teaching assistants, and staff demonstrators to ensure smooth operation of teaching laboratory activities.
  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to practical education, contributing to curriculum review and design.
  • Evaluate new equipment and instrumentation, collaborating with manufacturers to ensure optimal use.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (Chemistry or similar) or equivalent vocational qualifications plus relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in synthetic chemistry-based disciplines.
