About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Perioperative Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize perioperative care for acute surgical patients
  • Work closely with the Intensive Care and Perioperative Consultant and Acute Medical and Anaesthetic Consultant to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Lead the development of our perioperative service, building on the success of our orthogeriatric service
  • Collaborate with the Geriatric Medicine department to provide comprehensive care to our patients
  • Participate in the NHS Elect POPs 2 cohort, a shared development program aimed at developing our perioperative service in line with national guidance and evidence-based models
Requirements
  • Proven experience in perioperative medicine and geriatric care
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
