About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Digital Copywriter to join our dynamic Content Team at Halfords. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and SEO-optimised content that drives customer experience and loyalty.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will develop a wide range of digital content, including advice centre articles, brand pages, blogs, FAQs, category short descriptions, video scripts, product descriptions, and store information pages. Your content will be used across our website and social media channels, reaching millions of customers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a customer-first approach to content creation, ensuring all content is accurate, engaging, and optimised for SEO.
  • Work with the Senior Copywriter and Group Content Team to ensure consistency in tone and style across all content.
  • Conduct competitor audits to identify new opportunities for content creation and provide recommendations to enhance our online presence.
  • Liaise with marketing and category teams to obtain information required for content creation and ensure all content is fully optimised for SEO.
  • Establish strong working relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure content is represented and considered throughout the creative process.
  • Ensure all content is QA tested and approved, working with marketing and category teams to gather information and obtain sign-off.
  • Meet deadlines and communicate regularly with relevant departments and line managers to update them on progress.
About You
  • You have a passion for writing and a deep understanding of the value of well-crafted content.
  • You possess excellent written and spoken English, with perfect spelling and grammar.
  • You are highly organised, with great project management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • You have a strong understanding of SEO principles and the use of keywords.
  • You are enthusiastic and driven, with a passion for retail and a desire to provide sound advice that helps people.
  • You are competent in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • You have at least 1 year of experience in copywriting for businesses, following brand guidelines and tone of voice.
