About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Digital Content Specialist to join our team at Halfords. As a key member of our Content Team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and high-quality digital content that meets the needs of our customers and supports our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and rewrite a wide range of digital content, including articles, blog posts, product descriptions, and social media content, with a focus on SEO optimization and customer experience.
  • Work closely with our Senior Copywriter and cross-functional teams to develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with our brand voice and tone.
  • Conduct competitor audits and provide recommendations for content opportunities to help Halfords dominate each category.
  • Liaise with our marketing and category teams to obtain information required to create new content or update existing pages.
  • Collaborate with our SEO team to ensure that all content is fully optimized to maximize effectiveness.
  • Establish strong working relationships with relevant cross-functional teams to ensure that content is represented and considered throughout the creative process.
  • Ensure that all work is QA tested and approved, and obtain sign-off from relevant stakeholders, including external brands.
  • Meet deadlines and communicate regularly with departments of relevance and your line manager to update them on your progress.

About You:

  • You have a passion for writing and creating engaging content that resonates with customers.
  • You possess excellent written and spoken English skills, with perfect spelling and grammar.
  • You are highly organized with great project management skills, confident in working to tight deadlines.
  • You have great communication skills, both written and verbal, and are enthusiastic and driven with a passion for retail.
  • You have a good understanding of SEO and the use of keywords.
  • You are competent in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • You have at least 1 year of experience in copywriting for businesses, following brand guidelines and tone of voice, with the ability to showcase your activity.
  • It is desirable to have an interest in cycling and motoring.
