Role Overview

Ribbons & Reeves are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in a mainstream Primary School in Richmond. The ideal candidate will have a degree, strong attainment across GCSE and A-Level, and a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the SENCO to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils with SEND.
  • Encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
  • Support children and young people who have a range of additional and often complex SEND, such as ADHD, ASC, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech language and communication needs, and those who exhibit resistant behaviour.
  • Undertake specified work with individuals, groups, and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.
Requirements
  • Has a degree and can showcase strong attainment across GCSE and A-Level.
  • Has the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Has a flexible and adaptable approach to both work and to the behaviours of students.
  • Has a good understanding of the way children learn and previous knowledge of ASC and ADHD.
  • Has good organisational skills.
  • Has a positive and resilient mindset.
