Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team in Westminster, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing safeguarding concerns and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

About the Role

The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, pastoral staff, and external agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children. This includes handling referrals to social services and external agencies, maintaining records of safeguarding concerns and interventions, and delivering training to staff on safeguarding practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding Leadership: Assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing all safeguarding and child protection concerns.
  • Case Management: Handle referrals to social services and external agencies.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
  • Training and Development: Deliver training to staff on safeguarding practices.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, pastoral staff, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in safeguarding or child protection, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and guidance.
  • Relevant qualifications in safeguarding or child protection.
  • A genuine commitment to the safety, well-being, and development of all children.
