Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Mechanical and Electrical Manager to join Colbern Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contractors, overseeing performance, and ensuring that service delivery meets critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing contracts and delivering large-scale programmes in social housing or a related environment. They will also possess strong contract management expertise, including overseeing multi-million-pound contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support across key service areas, including Electrical, Lighting, Lifts, Mechanical, Legionella, Domestic Gas, and Communal Gas services.
  • Manage and oversee the performance of contractors, ensuring compliance with agreed KPIs and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of 20+ staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, such as Programme Board and Contractor Core Group meetings.
  • Provide detailed reporting and updates to senior management on service delivery, performance, and improvement areas.

What You'll Achieve:

  • Deliver efficient and high-quality mechanical and electrical services within the council's housing portfolio.
  • Ensure contractors meet performance standards and service delivery aligns with council objectives.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering and/or electrical services.
  • Extensive experience managing contracts and delivering large-scale programmes in social housing or a related environment.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and lead complex projects effectively.
  • Strong contract management expertise, including overseeing multi-million-pound contracts.

Work Style and Reporting:

  • Hybrid working, with both remote and on-site responsibilities.

Salary: £310 per day PAYE or £419.71 per day Limited paid via Umbrella Company inside IR35.
