We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Matron of the Lewisham Surgical Centre, a cutting-edge facility serving South East London.

Job Summary

This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in our region by leading a high-performing team of clinical nurse specialists and contributing to the development of innovative services that prioritize patient care and satisfaction.

The successful candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical centre, fostering collaboration with external partners, and driving continuous quality improvement.

Main Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Providing strong clinical leadership to ensure the effective running of the surgical centre, striving for productivity improvements and adhering to national elective best practice standards.
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent, patient-focused, and cost-effective services that align with the strategic direction of the SEL Acute Provider Collaborative and the Trust.
  • Undertaking advanced clinical care, interventions, and procedures commensurate with your specialty.
  • Leading the nursing service review and redesign of pathways to ensure consistency across the organization and parity of access.

Person Specification

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:

  • A degree-registered nurse or theatres practitioner with post-registration qualification or equivalent experience in ENT speciality.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline or currently studying towards it.
  • Teaching and assessing qualifications.
  • Proven experience in surgical specialties, theatres, and day surgery, including managing staff, developing service initiatives, and demonstrating expertise in change management.
  • Advanced nursing skills, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include comprehensive training, career development opportunities, and a competitive pension scheme.
