HR Advisor Roles Available

Band 6, Permanent, Full-time Positions

We are seeking HR Advisors to join our team of professionals providing comprehensive HR support across NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The roles will be divided among three portfolio areas:

Portfolio 1: Compensation, Policy, and Terms & Conditions

Reporting to the Principal Lead Pay, Policy, and Terms & Conditions, you will provide expert guidance and advisory services to managers and staff at all levels on matters related to pay, job evaluation, policy, and terms and conditions of service (Agenda for Change terms and conditions).

Portfolio 2: Operational HR Support

As an HR Advisor in this portfolio, you will advise, influence, train, and coach line managers on handling employee relations issues, including conduct, capability, grievance, and attendance. You will also be responsible for ensuring the effective application of organisational policies and procedures, as well as supporting the organisation through workforce and service change initiatives.

To excel in these roles, you must possess a deep understanding of current employment legislation and be adept at navigating multi-unionised environments. Both positions require individuals who can deliver results in partnership with senior managers and colleagues across various professions and grades.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree-level qualification in a relevant field and have a postgraduate professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD) or equivalent experience. Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage complex employee relations matters effectively. Previous experience in the NHS or public sector is desirable.
