Bed Hub Allocation Support Specialist

The Single Bed Hub is responsible for receiving and processing referrals for patients requiring a discharge to assess (D2A) bed-based services. This involves liaising with staff, patients, and families to ensure a safe and timely bed transfer, ensuring that all IT systems are up-to-date.
Main Responsibilities- To support the tracking of patients' journeys from referral to discharge in a timely manner using in-house CDT IT systems and Excel, ensuring that all time frames are met.
- Support the Allocation Team to manage bed capacity across all areas to ensure that all capacity is reported and utilized.
- Working with the team to ensure that bed allocation is appropriate and in line with the service criteria.
- Support the team to manage the daily unmet demand - including attending daily meetings to discuss LOS and flow across all acutes with service leads.
- Develop relationships with all partners and colleagues to support timely updates and flow through discharge to assess beds.

Qualifications
Essential
- oEducated to NVQ Level 2 standard or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
- oGCSE English grade C or above or equivalent experience.
- oICT Qualification to the competency level of ECDL/CLAIT etc.

- oExperience of working within a hospital or community setting and have an understanding of Patient Flow.
- oExperience of using computer-based information systems in an office environment.
- oAbility and experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office and have accurate and competent keyboard skills.
- oExperience in work planning, and prioritizing.

- oStandard IT literate with evidenced experience of relevant IT systems/databases.
- oHave an understanding of Patient Flow and how this affects the Local Health Economy, both within a Hospital and Home setting.
