Estates Building Maintenance Worker/Carpenter

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Carpenter to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a key member of our Estates team, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair work on our buildings and facilities.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in general building maintenance. You will be required to work independently, interpreting and working from instructions, drawings, and specifications without supervision.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Apprenticeship in a relevant core trade with a minimum of a City and Guilds advanced craft certificate or BTEC in a relevant building maintenance trade.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in general building maintenance, outside of core trades such as painting and decorating, carpentry, and joinery.
- Good understanding of the relationship of other craftsmen's work to their own.
- Experience of maintenance carpentry and building in a range of settings.
Desirable Criteria
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a complex building maintenance environment.
- Basic electrical safety training to be able to fulfill duties without support from other trades.
- Understanding of the working of mechanical and/or electrical and/or plumbing and/or gas systems in NHS buildings.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment.
