Estates Building Maintenance Worker/Carpenter

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Carpenter to join our Estates Department at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, including carpentry, joinery, and other related tasks.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the relationship between other craftsmen's work and your own.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Apprenticeship in a relevant core trade, with a minimum of a City and Guilds with advanced craft certificate or BTEC, ONC in a relevant building maintenance trade.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in general building maintenance, outside of core trades such as painting and decorating, carpentry, and joinery.
- Good understanding of the relationship between other craftsmen's work and your own.
- Experience of maintenance carpentry and building in a range of settings.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a complex building maintenance environment.
- Basic electrical safety training to be able to fulfill duties without support from other trades.
- Understanding of the working of mechanical and/or electrical and/or plumbing and/or gas systems in NHS buildings.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment.
