Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our SEND Therapies Team in Essex.

You will work with children who have identified speech, language, and communication needs, as part of their Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver interventions under the direction of a SEND Therapies speech and language therapist in educational settings.
  • Collaborate with educational support colleagues to support children's learning and development.
  • Project a positive image of the service at all times and participate in regular supervision and appraisal processes.

Salary: £23,100 per annum, plus group pension.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A recognized NVQ or equivalent qualification in childcare.
  • Educated to at least 5 GCSEs A-C, including Maths & English.
  • Previous experience in a community/educational setting delivering therapy support services.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the NHS or education.
  • A good understanding of child protection processes.
  • A car driver with own car insured for business use.
