Role Description

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work with Individuals who receive support from the Community Enhanced support team and the Inpatient Assessment and Treatment Unit.

As a key member of our Learning Disability Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services and consultations to people within the Essex Specialist Learning Disability Services.

You will manage a caseload, using evidence-based principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions in clinic, community settings, and when in hospital.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with people with mental health problems and/or learning disability in a variety of health and social care settings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to a client's formulation, diagnosis, and case management plan.
  • Plan and implement individual and/or group interventions using selected and graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.
  • Ensure that clients are consulted and involved in decisions about their care.
