Colchester, Essex, United Kingdom Essex County Council Full time

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative and award-winning team, working alongside adults with complex needs related to their learning disability and autism, mental or physical health, or a combination of these.

As a skilled social worker, you will have a real interest in relationship-based practice, focusing on building independence through a positive approach to risk and the strengths-based model.

You will work closely with adults across Essex placed in supported living accommodation and residential care to undertake Care Act reviews, developing independence and progression, as well as collaborating with family members, advocates, and care providers.

Carefully balancing person-centred practice with effective supported living whole-scheme reviews, we champion technology-enabled care (TEC) and its proven track record of improving adults' independence.

This role sits within our Countywide service, supporting adults living in all areas of Essex and occasionally out of county. You will be community and home based, with flexibility to work from various Essex locations for administrative purposes, undertaking travel across the county as needed.

We are looking for a qualified social worker with current registration, at least one year's post-qualifying experience, and evidence of ongoing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current standards.

To succeed in this role, you will need attention to detail, knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty and Court of Protection procedures, as well as confidence in person-centred and positive risk-taking approaches.

Please note that a driving license and car or alternative mobility arrangements are essential due to the requirement for regular travel around Essex.

In return, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary up to £48,622 per annum, training opportunities, flexible working options, employee wellbeing support, lease car scheme, relocation assistance, life assurance, professional fees payment, local government pension scheme, volunteering leave, generous annual leave, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme and Employee Networks.
