We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employment Lawyer to join our client, a forward-thinking public body organisation based in the Northern Home Counties. As a key member of their legal services team, you will provide expert advice and guidance on employment and education matters, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal advice to client organisations and schools on employment and education matters.
- Attend courts and tribunals, undertaking advocacy where required, to protect the best interests of the client organisations.
- Represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties, building effective working relationships and providing a seamless and client-focused service.
- Supervise and line manage the activities of the team, including performance, caseloads, and productivity, motivation, and development.
- Contribute to the development, training, or mentoring of colleagues, ensuring the team's expertise and knowledge are up-to-date.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx with a strong understanding of the local government framework in relation to Employment, Education, and Governance.
- At least 2 years PQE gained in a local authority setting, although this is not essential.
