We are seeking a skilled Lead Social Worker to join our team in South Yorkshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the management of social work services, ensuring high-quality assessments and interventions that secure positive outcomes for children and families.
Main Responsibilities- Service Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for social work services, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that promote high-quality social work services.
- Casework Supervision
- Supervise social workers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality casework and adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate casework, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Safeguarding and Risk Management
- Implement and maintain effective safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of social work services.
- Partnership Working
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external agencies, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination of social work services.
- Represent the organisation in external forums, promoting the value and contribution of social work services.
- Professional Development
- Develop and deliver training and development programmes for social workers, enhancing their skills and knowledge in key areas such as assessment, intervention, and risk management.
- Contribute to the development of organisational policies and procedures, ensuring they are informed by best practice and research evidence.
- Degree in Social Work and current registration with the relevant regulatory body.
- Extensive experience in managing social work services, including supervision of staff and oversight of complex cases.
- Expertise in child and family assessments, safeguarding, and risk management.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal, regulatory, and statutory frameworks in social work practice.
