About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and talented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team within Legal Services at Cheshire West & Chester Council. As a key member of our specialist areas, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal services and contributing to impactful projects across the borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and preparing documentation for a range of planning and highway related agreements;
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments and implementing changes to the Council's policies as required;
  • Collaborating with a team of legal professionals to develop your expertise.

This is an ideal position if you are looking to gain hands-on experience in local government legal work while contributing to the Council's strategic objectives.

What You'll Be Doing
  1. Preparing Essential Documentation: Managing and preparing documentation for various planning and highway agreements; drafting essential legal documents such as section 106 planning agreements and highways agreements.
  2. Staying Up-to-Date with Legal Developments: Keeping up to date with legal developments and implementing changes to the Council's policies as required; ensuring that your knowledge is current and relevant to the needs of the Council.
  3. Collaboration and Expertise Development: Collaborating with a team of legal professionals to develop your expertise and contribute to the delivery of effective legal advice and support.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £28,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career progression.
